Everly helps families create celebration-of-life ceremonies. By the nature of that work, we hold information that is deeply personal — names, photos, voices, stories, and tributes from loved ones. We treat all of it with the care it deserves.
What we collect
- Account information. Your email, display name, and (if you choose) profile photo.
- Ceremony content. Honoree names, interview answers, drafted ceremonies, music selections, photos and videos you upload, and tributes shared by family.
- Memorial pages. Anything you choose to publish on a public memorial page, plus guestbook entries from visitors.
- Billing. Purchase records and the last four digits of the card used. Full card details are handled directly by Stripe and never reach our servers.
- Light usage analytics. Page visits, features used, and ceremony completion milestones — used only to improve Everly.
How we use it
- To generate, edit, and present your ceremony.
- To keep your draft safe across devices.
- To deliver exports, memorial pages, and family invitations.
- To contact you about important account or service notices (we do not send marketing email without your consent).
How it's protected
Your ceremony data lives in an encrypted cloud database with row-level security — meaning even our own systems will only return rows that belong to your account. Uploaded photos, videos, and audio are stored in a private storage bucket and served through short-lived signed URLs only to people you've invited. Backups are encrypted at rest.
AI-generated drafts
When you ask Everly to draft a section, the relevant interview answers, template, and tribute snippets are sent to our AI provider only to produce that response. Your content is not used to train any third-party model. The draft returns to your account and stays under your control.
Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data. We use a small set of trusted processors to run Everly — cloud database and storage, email delivery, payment processing, and the AI provider that produces ceremony drafts. Each is bound by a data-processing agreement and only sees what they need to do their job.
Your rights
You have full control over your information at any time:
- Access & portability. Download a complete copy of everything we hold about you as a single JSON file from your data page.
- Correction. Edit your profile, ceremony, and memorial content at any time inside Everly.
- Erasure. Permanently delete your account and every record we hold from your account page. There is no waiting period — once confirmed, the deletion runs immediately.
- Restriction & objection. Pause analytics by choosing "Essential only" in our cookie notice, or write to us and we'll honour any reasonable request.
Retention
We keep your ceremony content for as long as your account is active so that it stays available to you and the family members you've shared with. Deleted ceremonies are removed immediately; backups containing them roll off within 30 days. Billing records are retained for as long as tax law requires.
Children
Everly is intended for adults arranging ceremonies. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us and we will remove it.
International transfers
Our infrastructure may store and process data in jurisdictions other than your own. Where required, transfers are governed by Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.
